On Sunday the 19th day of April 2020 the President of Ghana H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo addressed the Nation on Covid19 pandemic. In His speech, He lifted the ban on lockdown at the concern regions due to several concerns raised by citizens. Many, were seen dancing on the streets of Accra and Kumasi over the relief. The minority was rather of the view that the government was gambling with the lives of Ghanaians.
This is the second time he has address the nation since the time of Covid19 pandemic. Unfortunately, the President contradicted his previous quote “we know how to restore the back to life but what we don’t know is how to bring people back to life”. Many were of the divergent view that he has decided to put the lives of Ghanaians more at risk. This will cause a catastrophic increase the confirmed cases in the country.
My fellow Ghanaians, one question I keep asking myself is does the government really care about our lives? This is the time for us to value our lives n pay heed to the necessary precautionary measures in order to fight against this deadly.
In conclusion even though the government have lifted up the ban on lockdown it’s our duty to love our lives and stick to the ff:
1. Washing of our hands under running water regularly.
2. Cover your nose with tissue before coughing and dispose the tissue.
3. Avoid crowded places.
4. Stay home.
5. Wear nosemusk when going out.
