The Environmental health Office in the Volta Region has unveiled Official identification jackets to aid it’s Staff in the fight against COVID-19 and improve general sanitation in the region.
Dr Archibald Yao Letsa , Volta regional minister who launched the jackets, said “COVID-19 is the to talk about environmental health, of which they are at the forefront”. Speaking, he emphasized on the fact that enforcement of Environmental and Sanitation laws remained the key factor in the quest to attain sound hygienic environment, and that the jackets would help Officials to be identified and accorded the need cooperation.
He said “the jackets would also help eliminate impersonators in the volta region and allow officers to do their work confidently and under the authority of the nation”.
Mr Letsa called on all to support measures by the President in curbing the Spread of COVID-19 and also commended Traditional heads in the region for their efforts.
Mr Sybil Boison , Regional Environmental health Officer , said the jackets would uplift the image of the office and enable Staff across the region go about their duties without hindrances.
He acknowledged the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) for supporting the identification efforts and said sanitation guidelines would soon be made available to aid the formation of District COVID-19 burial team.
